What to do After the Fire

Before entering the structure check with Fire Officials to make sure it is safe to enter the structure.

You should contact your Insurance Company or Agent as soon as possible after the incident. The Fire District can assist you.
You should not discard and damaged belongings until your Insurance Representative tells you to do so.

Utilities
- Your utilities may have been disconnected to protect you and the firefighters from the danger of the gas on electricity. You can inquire from the Fire Official if the utilities have been disconnected.
- If severe cold temperatures you must protect against freezing water lines to the structure.
- Only utility companies can restore utilities.
- All your utilities and services including your mechanical, electrical, and gas system may need to be checked by a professional, even if it does not appear to be damaged.
